WE GOT THE PLACE!!!!!!!!!

We have got a place for DS in September in a specialist ASC resourced provision within a MS school. Amended statement with the school named in Part 4 winging it's way to us!

We still have a fight though - to get LEA funded transport named in the statement. A different part of the council deal with that, so am composing an email to them as we speak.

I FEEL TOTALLY WIRED (in a good way)

well done! brilliant news!

silverfrog · 22/07/2010 13:19

fantastic! well done.

why are you fighting for transport? I thought if a school was named in Statement, then it was a natural progression? (disclaimer, I do not us transport for dd1, so not completely aware of the rules...)

vjg13 · 22/07/2010 13:27

Well done! Great news for you. If you have problems getting the transport supportive letters from your gp and other hcps will help.

PolarEyes · 22/07/2010 13:29

woohoo! yay

Hope the transport it sorted out easily, as they've agreed ASC unit it should mean that it is deemed the nearest suitable placement......

phlebas · 22/07/2010 13:44

Congratulations

ReasonableDoubt · 22/07/2010 15:42

Thanks all

The case officer and his colleague were suitably vague about transport and one of them even said 'we can provide transport, but we don't put it in the statement any more'. Yeah, right. Head of the provision told us that every child there bar one has transport written into their statement, so I amready for a ruck on that front

I feel so unbelievably relieved. I just bought a bottle of bubbly in Sainsbury's and am tempted to open it NOW...

Oh, and thanks tribunalgoer [SMILE]

In all honesty, although I realise that my hard work has been instrumental in getting this, but I am also INDEBTED to you and others like you on MN, and I don't mean that to sound syrupy and sentimental. The support, advice, information and just the strength that I have drawn from the SN board here has been amazing. Truly. I don't have this sort of support system in RL, sadly, so it has been a lifeline (cliched, but true!).

So thank you - all of you!

sugarcandymonster · 22/07/2010 19:37

That's brilliant news! So glad for you and your DS.

roundthebend4 · 22/07/2010 19:54

We don't have transport in statement but. We do have for september lea emailed transport department who called me who then sent letter confirming.

jiggles01 · 22/07/2010 21:25

We also have full transport agreed with panel but were also told unless very specific requirements were needed then it also would not and is not in the statement (solicitors advice )and it would go in pt 6 which is not legally binding

Lougle · 22/07/2010 22:08

We have transport agreed but it isn't in statement. It is deemed DD1's nearest suitable school, and as such, given that it is over 2 miles away, transport has to be provided. So no need for the statement to specify it.

We do have a letter saying she is entitled.

keepyourmouthshutox · 23/07/2010 00:53
