Maclaren Major - help / advice needed...

Need some help.

Go on holiday on Sunday and decided to try out the Maclaren Major today to make sure DD ok in (doesnt cope with change very well). Been using other pushchair until now but too big and bulky to take on a plane and she is actually too big for it but I am still struggling with the "sympathy" looks pushing a Major buggy brings and always rains in Scotland so its not that practical.

Anyway all was fine until she fell asleep and her head started flopping (she has low tone so has poor head control at best of times and awful when ill or asleep). Also she has sleep apnoea so being crumpled while napping doesnt help.

Any advice on how to support her head while she asleep seeing as this pushchair wont recline? When I asked these questions at wheelchair clinic I got told that 3 yr olds shouldnt be having a nap - grrrr - fat lot of good that piece of advice is. Hope someone can help

Thanks

I'm afraid my 4 year old struggles with the lack of head support when he's tired, too. And yes, that boy can fall asleep anywhere, so does occasionally fall asleep in his major. There are supposed to be side inserts available, but they don't look to be that high.

It IS possible, however, to get a raincover for it. For the official one, you need the sunshade plus the cover, but there is someone on ebay who makes unofficial ones. Just as well, since we walk up to 20km a week with ours and it's often weeing down here, too.

Ds used to fall asleep in his when he was much older than 3 and I always thought it was a shame there was no way of reclining it. I used to have to do the best I could with a rolled-up blanket wedged between him and the side of the buggy to try and support his head a bit and stop him banging his face. Not ideal though.
