Hi, this might sound like a stupid question but do your kids get homework?
My son is just coming to to end of y1, mainstream school. And hes never had any homework. I feel this is wrong. I know my daughter had homework in year 1, and although same teacher, my son has never been given any. This doesnt seem right to me. My son has autism.

Yes, but he hates it & rarely does any. It's like tooth extraction to get him to write, especially.
Not sure what SN DS has, Little-Boy-Itis, maybe .

DS got a little HW in Y3, then twice a week in Y4. Nothing before that (other than reading and suggestions for things we might like to do over the holidays). I'd be annoyed if a Y1 dc was bringing HW home tbh.

Both DS and DD brought home reading and key words to practise and that was it in Y1.
DS (also ASD) found it very hard to get the concept of homework - 'school work we do at home' seemed illogical.
Might be worth asking school whether a minimal regular task would help him develop an understanding of 'homework'; as it's really hard to establish later.
