Rather than cloggin up the other thread I thought I'd put this here:

Provision here in Northants is really good - if you haven't already registered with these people then its worth doing - they hold a days seminar for Y5 parents thats very informative.

If your DS is statemented then you can choose any school you like and unless there was a very good reason why they could not be educated there then you get in. Although if they could be educated at a nearer school then you wouldn't get funded transport.

If you're not bothered about him going to your local school then the DSP here and www.thedustonschool.northants.sch.uk/here are excellent.

Not sure who / what support you're getting but we got lots of info / support / advice from the ASD team and autism concern who you've probably heard of.

we are just at the beginning of everything. Ron Fortuna from the county autistic team met with us today and he really feels we can get a statement ~(once definatly diagnosed) for his ADHD.

Its just good to get a "feel" as to what schools are out there really

We live in little billing so the academy is the local one but if it is possible to get into the better ones in the county that would be good.

Ron gave us a leaflet on SNIP - haven't got round to looking at it yet but many thanks.

Ron also mention caroline chisholm being good and he has a lot to do with the boys school too

Our primary school use assertive mentoring like duston. Also caroline chisholm looks excellent for aspergers - is it too far away though realistically?
