Achievement for all

Just wondering whether anyone has experience of this new Achievement for All project. School has requested that my Yr1 ds take part and it has come as a bit of a shock. From reading about the scheme, it is for children with SEN - school action, school action plus or statemented. My ds has some behavioural difficulties at school and receives additional literacy support but as far as I'm aware no formal diagnosis of SEN. Could the school have put him on School Action etc without discussion with me? The AFA project looks like a positive step to me, particularly in relation to dialogue with parents, but I wonder whether it is appropriate for ds.

If he has specific literacy support then he is probably on School Action, which may only be temporary. Does he have an IEP ? Not heard of AFA though

School has never discussed an IEP with us so I assume not. Think I need to have a discussion with SENCO.
