DD1 age 13 dyslexic - any exam prep hints?

DD 1 is moderately dyslexic but ok in mainstream school and doing fine generally but lagging behind in english and all subjects that require reading texts and extracting information from them eg history.
She will do GCSEs as normal but struggles with memorising and note writing for her revision.
Any ideas for exam preparation help? We have gone down the learning style assessment and dictaphone route, but I am sure there are some really good ideas out there that I just havn't come across!
And how on earth do you apply a kinaesthetic learning style into real life??

Assume she is up for extra time?

DS (13) but had some pretty big exams - CE - so has had to do revision etc. He seems to draw alot of indeipherable diagrams that only he can understand. He also devised a physics game...but I do think he was arsing around with that!

Can you photocopy relevant pages of text books and highlight the key facts?

my DD2 is dyslexic, and is also 13, and she qualifies for a 'reader' and 'scriber' in all exams, so you must look into that.

apparently they also can qualify for a laptop during their GCSE years, but I am not 100% certain on how they work out who qualifies or not.

my DD2 certainly has had the 'reader' and 'scriber' tho.....she had one for her SATs, and was supposed to for her CATs, but something went awry.........it is already in motion tho for her next lot of exams.

in her school it is the learning support team that have all the info, does your DDs school have one? (they should, most do IME)

oh, and fr prep, she had a tutor supplied to her for 1hr per week for the term before the exams last time......she helped with games and memory 'fixes'. the dyslexia foundation was recommended to me for having great tips on exam prep also
