ADHD on Statement is it important to ask for it to be added?

The above says it all really........... I have Wilfs annual review next Monday and i have asked for them to consider adding ADHD to his list of Special Ed Needs........ I will post this in Special Needs as well.Has anyone else asked for this and i need some reasons to back me up. I am going to contact his psychiatrist tomorrow and ask him to fax something to school for me! Thanks.

i would think it needs to be added so school can deal with the issues ADHD brings it is a special need that needs recognising after all

Absolutely - you might want to also ensure he has enough one on one supervision to ensure he can keep on task in class. Also help with being organised and help with keeping track of homework.
