Schools holidays

Can I ask what you all do for the school holidays? I have 5yr old DS who is possibly Audhd (awaiting diagnosis). He has an EHCP at school and does ok.
I’ve tried a number of holiday clubs now with varying levels of success. Today I tried a different one, which is charity run and pride themselves on being ‘inclusive’ and run SEN events, so I thought it would be good. I had to pick him up after 2 hours as he was hitting and biting staff, which is obviously not ok, and don’t blame them for ringing me at all. Unfortunately when we do have camps which have gone well, we have 1 bad day and that is what they remember him by, they don’t think the last few times he’s been have been good, maybe he was just having a bad day.
I’m thinking maybe employing someone for the holidays maybe a couple of days a week to help look after him while I work. Has anyone got any experience of this. Maybe a TA from school who would like a bit of extra money during the holidays or a part time nanny. I’m really at a loss with what to do. We won’t need anyone until Easter holidays now, so got plenty of time to plan. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Some people use PAs (some use TAs who want extra hours in the holiday, so it’s definitely worth asking) or SEN nannies.

Rather than a mainstream club who is inclusive has SEN events, check if you have any specific SEN clubs available. Have a look at your local offer and your local short breaks scheme. Although there may not be anything suitable.

Some find building up time slowly at clubs helpful. If the club will allow it.
