Sen - EHCP TRANSFER

Hello , can anyone help with this - I’m going to be moving homes on 25th have to move out earlier due to circumstances out of my control however my tenancy doesn’t end till the 14th, will the council still process their ehcps when we physically move , I know I will still be paying bills etc council tax till the 14th , but will the EHCP transfer take place on the 25th when we physically move anyone able to help

I take it your move means moving LAs? When you move LA with an EHCP, the new LA becomes responsible for the EHCP on transfer. The EHCP transfers on the day you move if you give the new LA at least 15 working days notice or within 15 working days of the LA becoming aware if that is later. So if you haven’t already notified the new LA of your move on the 25th, it won’t transfer on the day you move because you haven’t given them at least 15 working days notice.

I’ve been trying to contact them all week but both LAs keep passing me from one to another , I’ve emailed current LA 3 times and no response called them and they told me to contact new LA . It’s just all very confusing x

Email the Director of Children’s Services at the new LA.
