Y12 omitted from SEN Register

Just found out that Y12 DD's new sixth form didn't put her on their SEN Register despite her submitting evidence of her formal diagnosis of dyslexia and exam access arrangements when she joined the new school at the beginning of the school year.

How does such an omission happen, what does it mean and what should she/I do now?

It doesn't mean a lot so long as they will implement the access arrangements and she is being given reasonable adjustments for her needs.

A SEN register is just a list really and having a diagnosis doesn't mean you have to be on it.

I would check/get her to check that extra time will be in place. Is she doing well and feeling supported?

I agree with @ThesebeautifulthingsthatIvegot.

Sometimes it is overlooked, but presumably DD has been receiving the support and EAA she needs otherwise you/she would have raised it before now?

Have you/DD spoken to the SENCO &/or head of sixth form &/or her tutor? Have you/DD spoken directly to her teachers?

It means nothing
