SEND-friendly play café in Devon — would love your thoughts

Hi everyone 👋

I wanted to share a little bit more about our play café in Mid Devon, as something that’s really important to us is making sure it feels welcoming for SEND families 🤍

It’s something we felt was missing locally, so we’ve tried to create a space that’s a bit calmer and more flexible than your typical soft play.

✨ A slower, less overwhelming environment
✨ Indoor and outdoor space, so there’s room to take a breather
✨ No loud music or flashing lights
✨ You’re never rushed — we completely understand needing to take things at your own pace

I’ve also spent a number of years working with SEND children (including within home education), so this is something I care deeply about — but I know every child is different, and we’re always learning.

We’re currently working on adding a small sensory space too, based on feedback from families, which we’re really excited about.

We’re always happy to chat honestly about whether it might be the right fit for your child before you visit — no pressure at all 🤍

I’d really love to hear from other parents — what actually makes a place feel SEND-friendly to you?
