Sen teen clothing fixations causing meltdowns

My son is nearly 15 still has HUGE issues surrounding clothes particularly pants, vests and socks.
He doesnt seem to understand that he cant wear the same pairs forever because his body is growing rapidly.
He will wear things for many years past the age in the label. When he requires more and the shop doesnt sell those particular ones anymore he has a meltdown.
In addition to this he wears many layers of clothes, for example pants x2, shorts x2 , joggers x2 so 6 layers. Nothing we say stops him from doing this. He creates us a huge amount of washing.
Any tips for helping him with this as its not getting any better the older he gets

It could be a sensory issue. Has DS had a sensory OT assessment and does he have any ongoing input?

For the cost of washing, are you receiving DLA for DS? Check if you are eligible for the WaterSure scheme too.

I have had some success with the clothes on the Sensory Smart website.
