Hello all,

I have an autistic 9 year old, in burn out, out of school at the moment, very high levels of anxiety for a long time. I have been advised to put in a section 19 request for Mindjam or similiar. She isn’t psychologically abuse to access education at the moment and is finding leaving the house very challenging. I will contact Mindjam this week but does anyone know if any alternatives? TIA

It depends on what you need. If you are thinking of provision based around gaming, there are providers such as Player Ready, Enemy of Boredom, Tubers Academy who all offer online provision. Sometimes Overworld can provide online provision.

If you need mentoring but not necessarily based around gaming/coding etc, you could look at GROVE.

There will be local in person options who can deliver provision, including therapeutic provision, F2F at home.

There are also options for distance learning options such as Spectrum Space boxes and LCB Education.

As well as s19 provision, have you requested an EHCNA or if DD already has an EHCP, an early review?

Thank you. We’re going through the assessment process and are due to find out soon if they will be issuing.

Ed psych who assessed says she is only able to access theraputic work at the moment and no academic work.
