DLD - Moor House?

Hi,

Has anyone had experience with Moor House School? Our son is eight and has DLD. He’s repeated a year, so is currently in Year 3 and working about 18 months behind his age group in Maths. In English, his reading and spelling are good, but his handwriting and letter formation need improvement. He also struggles a little with inference in comprehension.

We’re being told by his small local independent school that they might not be able to support him as he progresses — but we’re unsure whether he’d be considered sufficiently “behind” to warrant a specialist school like Moor House.

If anyone has direct experience with Moor House, or could recommend alternative schools that might suit him, I'd really appreciate your insight.

No personal experience, but I have heard lots of positives. Depending on where you live, you could also look at Blossom House or More House. Neither is quite the same as Moor House, but worth looking, IMO, especially if you aren’t quite sure what DS needs.
