Annual Review after phase transfer

My DC has just moved to sixth form college but I think my question would also apply to other phase transfers.

AR was done early last year for phase transfer so I believe it's due again this term, probably about now. SENCo hasn't scheduled it in so my question is whether I should push for it to be done on schedule, within the 12 months.

I don't want my YP to miss out on what they are legally entitled to, but the big move to college was only in Sept. They are still settling in and staff are still getting to know them. I'm thinking delaying AR to around Feb time might be in their interests. Is this a terrible idea? Am I missing anything in long term consequences?

It's possible YP will do just 2 years at college but they are only accessing 2 A levels so we want the door to stay open to staying longer.

Personally, I would chase. It is a good opportunity to support the settling-in process. Iron out any niggling issues even if small, support the college to get to know DC more, etc.

Legally, ARs must be held at least annually. That still applies following phase transfers. Even if you start chasing now, it is highly unlikely the conclusion of the AR won’t be until next term, anyway.
