any advice on getting a child assessed for adhd I’ve been told the waiting list for the nhs is ridiculous

You could look at right to choose.

If you went down the private assessment route and affording ongoing private prescriptions would be an issue, check with your GP whether they will take on shared care if diagnosed/begin medication. Many won’t with private diagnoses now.
