Safe place 100 bed thoughts?

Does anyone one have a safe place bed 100? What are your thoughts on it? Have self referred to OT a couple of months back but looking like the waits well into next year as son tries to jump and throw himself around the bed at night.
Paed originally refused to prescribe melatonin when I asked and been re-referred for it but won't get anywhere until late next year with that.

Got a COC in for DLA as he was given middle rate care so sadly we don't have the budget for anything more than £400 ish options at the moment.

DS1 has one as a travel bed. It is really too small for him now and we haven’t used it for a while, but we haven’t found anything more suitable. He uses a different bed at home. Personally, I wouldn’t want to use it all the time.

The safeplace bed isn’t as stable as some others. Depending on the bed DS currently has, you might need a new bed to put it on. The internal space is smaller compared to some other specialist beds, so if DS finds smaller spaces claustrophobic, that might apply to this.

Have you looked at Newlife’s emergency equipment loans?

He quite likes being enclosed in things so hoping it won't be an issue. I self referred to OT 6 weeks ago, but he's under no other professionals apart from the dentist currently so I don't have any to meet new life's requirement for a letter from a professional for an emergency equipment loan sadly. LD nurses have said he can go back under them in November after his 5th birthday but until then we re a bit stuck for trying charities unless they ll allow a letter from a Sen school teacher or their support worker when he starts with them.

Our savings aren't enough to pay a private OT to help us either.

Have you asked the HV service/0-19 nursing service if they will support an application? Support for such beds from Newlife needs (or at least used to need) to be from an OT, physio or nurse for ND DC. Some professionals working in the HV service/0-19 service are nurses.

HVs have refused to let me access any more than nursery nurses when I last tried as they have such a low number of actual health visitors on the team (it's privately contracted out to virgin and they ve been unhelpful ) but I think his SEN school has an LD nurse on site a day a week so I can double check she can't help us next week.
