my child age 6 has significant speech impairment and is under speech and language she sees salt weekly and has done since she was 4. I went to the gp who made a referral aslong side The salt made a referral for adhd / asd. Both of those professionals are confident she has both but ovbs cant diagnose.
Anyway signs have been there since she was about 2 but I think I kept ignoring it thinking she will grow out of certain things and being a new mom I did miss a lot which I do feel guilty about.
school have commented on her energy ect but nothing else but I believe she masks very well at school because as soon as she comes home she has melt downs, she has said she hates herself, her brain is bad, this is all my fault she will scream cry throw things hit me ect
she is too friendly with strangers will speak and go off with anyone
her attention listening everywhere is non existent but school don’t think it’s a problem the list goes on snd on and I could write paragraphs and paragraphs but I have received adhd assessment questionnaire from the paediatrics vanderbilt assessment one was sent out tocme
which I have filled out but I’m unsure if school have received one as they haven’t said anything but my question is if my answers don’t match the schools will the paediatrician still see her for an appointment as everyone can see it but thr school like I have had to take her out of clubs because of it..
any advice will be appreciated
tia

A good paediatric service will be aware of masking. They will also be aware just because the school haven’t noticed signs doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

@Purpletaco thankyou for the reply
cause I have been worried they won’t see him if it doesn’t match the school even though it’s everywhere else and I don’t think school has picked up on it yet as she’s still in reception and it is 1 teacher to 30 children and majority of it is free play where as September she will be going into year 1 which is more structured snd work which I know will have more ovbs signs as there is in salt ect
