Ughhhhhhhh!!! It’s been 31 weeks today. Still no decision. I’m at my wits end and I’m sick of feeling like a pest when I ring and they seem almost annoyed to have to speak to me again. They finally contacted my child’s school 4 WEEKS after the deadline, at almost 6pm the night they broke up for the holidays. No answer from them still despite asking and they’ve not even bothered to contact DS disability social worker. They’re essentially saying it’s not their problem and school are at fault not them. They’ve not attempted to chase it up or anything and it was already overdue when they contacted someone. Feels like there’s no end in sight, if this MR gets rejected I can’t even imagine how long I’ll have to wait for a tribunal. My DS is 9 years old, severely autistic, non verbal, still in nappies and needs constant 1:1 supervision and 2:1 staff members when out at school (special needs school). This is all on his EHCP and school plans which I’ve sent in. I don’t understand why they even need to speak to anyone about it especially when all the documents I’ve sent are from school anyway.

Rather than rely on DWP contacting the social worker, get evidence from them yourself and send it. Have you chased the school?
