Anyone need somewhere to moan?

I just need a little rant, so thought others might need the same, and I would feel less alone.

My DS 6, diagnosed with Autism and ADHD is slowly breaking me at the moment. He recently started ADHD medication, but the meltdowns we get after school and the hyper behaviour once the meds where off is unreal. Through half term, he’s attacked me and his dad, doesn’t listen, doesn’t fully understand consequences. Aside from that he’s loving and funny, and my whole world, it’s two different personalities.

Does it get easier as they get older? Or will he be lashing out at me when he’s a teenager?!

Also, on a lighter note, he’s rubbed slime in all over my walls yesterday. 😅

Hi, sorry you didn't get any other replies sooner. This is also my child, she's 9 and it is slowly breaking us as parents. It's getting worse with age, which is pretty scary(I'm sure you don't want to hear that) she is just so hard to handle, it's 10.30 at night and she is still playing up and shouting whilst we try to get her to bed. Literally have no advice for you as I need advice too! But sending hugs as I know how f**king hard it is.

arrrrghhhhhhh feeling your pain.

My kid has autism and learning disability and in the nicest way he is an absolute liability.

He eats handfuls of his eczema cream, he runs away into roads (or tries), he tries to play with cat sh!t in the garden. He hangs off the sink and has almost pulled it off the wall. Anything he can break or trash in the house he will give it a good bloody go. 😂

If I ever try and sit down he comes over to me, stares me out, and shouts something inane at me "ifheiw9fheaw9ifhCHOKLATTTTT" or similar. "sdighfuiebgeiufbTRAIN".

PLEEEASE someone tell me it gets easier haha.

@GG1986oh no sorry to hear that, I’m praying it doesn’t get worse haha! I sometimes consider the loop ear plugs just to wear around the house, so lessen the noise!

@Komododragonchocolatecoinat least we can laugh about it (otherwise we cry lol).
Oh no about eating the eczema cream, I have to hide everything on very high shelves, although he does now move the stools around to climb on to reach hidden things! 🫣

I think sometimes knowing I’m not alone in this is nice!
