Hi everyone, I am new to all this so I hope I can get some great advice from you all so a very big thank you in advance.

Me and my family are looking to relocate to the Redditch or Shropshire area. We are currently looking for recommended safe areas to bring up our children. My eldest is 12 and has Autism, ADHD, MLD, SEN and has an EHCP and is very vulnerable and our youngest 9 has Autism & ADHD.

Can anyone recommend the best Special Needs Secondary Schools within Redditch/Shropshire for our eldest as this is a massive priority for us. He struggles alot to make friends so need somewhere he is going to feel safe. Our youngest despite his additional needs is doing well academically so also looking for recommendations for the best schools.

Thank you for taking your time to read my post and look forward to reading your replies.

😊

Be aware if you move LA, the new LA will review the EHCP and potentially amend or cease to maintain. You would have the right of appeal, but it is something you need to know is a possibility. They may also decide to undertake a reassessment of needs.

I know someone whose DC was happy at Pitcheroak. They only left because they aged out. Although I think lots of their current cohort have SLD now so may depend on DS’s presentation.

Or you could look at Regency High. Not in Redditch itself, but you could position yourself so it is within travelling distance.

@perpetualplatespinning Thank you for your advice that is definately something we need to think about as we didn't realise about the reassessment and thank you for your school recommendations.🙂

It isn’t necessarily something that should stop you moving if you want to, but something to be aware of.

If you do move and the LA propose to cease to maintain, the EHCP must be maintained until the conclusion of any appeal. LAs will often fail to mention this.

Hi are you looking for specialist schools or mainstream support? We are in Shrewsbury. My daughter with the same special needs ADHD, Mild Autism, moderate LD, dyslexia went to Severndale specialist school from 12 through to 18
