The process and waiting time with depend on where you live.

Your dd is always the same lovely girl she is. The different diagnosis don't define her, but they can help you to support her better. With Autism and ADHD diagnosis, the first therspeutic recommendation on the report is always: parenting classes. Knowing that my dcs are autistic and learning what that means/what they need from me helped me so much to parent them in a way that makes them calm and happy and helps them to thrive. In the beginning, it goes so against the stream of what everyone tells you good parenting looks like, until it becomes second nature. So it's really good to have that info early on, as it likely will avoid many (parental) meltdowns.I wish I had known when my dd was 2. In hindsight, it was so obvious as she presented so stereotypical and strongly, but it just never crossed my mind. So there was a lot of unnecessary trauma for all of us as I and school for too long treated her 'wrong'.
