Hi All,
Does anyone have experience of remote EP assessments, are they as good as face to face ones? (Context: My LA want to do one for my son as part of a reassessment of needs- he has an EHCP. He's in secondary, now in AP after PEX from mainstream with diagnoses of ASD and ADHD. Its quite complex now, SW and safeguarding involved, vulnerable to exploitation).
Should I insist on a face to face one? Hes due to start year 10 in September, I dont want to hold up the process. He needs to be in a specialist provision, autism specific, thereputic semh with a wide curriculum.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Personally, I would be pushing for a F2F assessment.

You say this is part of a reassessment of needs but have you had an early review following the PEX? If so, do you still have the right of appeal following that? If so, submit an appeal now to get an appeal in the system. The LA can always concede if they subsequently agree to SS.

There was an early review after the PEX but they wanted to do it without an Ed psych, so I stated they needed to reassess needs, then had to wait ages for them to agree, which they finally did. So now I'm confused in this is an early review or a reassessment..

You need to know if this is an early review or a formal reassessment of needs. The processes and timescales are different. Personally, I would just want the review (and then appeal if necessary).
