Hi All, does anyone have any views on The Green Room School in Kingsley and Elysian School in Liss please? We don’t have named school yet in Section I for our DS for Y7 summer 2025. It has a Specialist Provision listed as the type. Unfortunately a school that has made an offer has fallen through due to Hampshire LA not wanting to provide funding in advance. Thank you

They feel very different to Odyssey House which you mention is your preference in another thread. So if OH is your preference, appeal for that.

I’ve started mediation which will be up to 30 days but the tribunal waiting times are about a year so unfortunately I won’t be able to do that as it would mean my son would not have a placement for Yr7 Summer 2025. Also OH will only hold for a couple of months. I need to find alternative schools to consult with and these 2 are LA suggestions. The school needs to be low demand with a holistic approach and low arousal. We are back to square one again

DS loves school but has anxiety around learning as low self esteem. No behaviour problems and has not been excluded.

Phase transfer appeals are prioritised. You will not be waiting a year.

Personally, I wouldn’t bother with mediation. Just get the certificate and submit a BFI appeal SENDIST. You only have to consider mediation. You don’t have to actively partake. You can get the certificate and submit ASAP. This is especially important for phase transfer appeals.

I have submitted an appeal this morning using the online SEND35 form. Section I as no school listed and the funding issue for OH. Appreciate your advice.
