my 3 year old goes to nursery and he has settled in well… he is currently non verbal awaiting asd assessment. Awaiting ECHP ( now Senco involved to help move things along)
I want my son to stay an extra year in nursery but have been told by them today that this isn’t possible as the school is a trust ( didn’t even think this would cause any issues). I was hoping to keep him there until we have an echp and a better understanding of his needs -
even now he is one of the younger kids in class (they have 4 and almost 5 year olds in nursery) and as he is a summer child he is “allowed” to defer a year - however the Senco said this isn’t what they normally would do as the school is a trust.
has anyone been ima similar situation and would you advise to just change schools ?
