Hello,
can I ask if anyone’s child with a recommendation for mainstream provision on their EHCP has got a space in a high coin unit?
The unit I put as my parental preference has told me that my daughter reads as a special school child and this is what they have said to the local authority:
“I have said that she will need a full time one to one, which is detrimental to her wellbeing and not the best use of resources as we do not provide one to one in the centre.”
I must add I am going to tribunal in December to fight to get the provision changed to specialist as she can’t cope in mainstream school and the recommendation for mainstream school came as a shock to everyone (EHCP was finalised a couple of weeks ago)
She has been on a reduced timetable since May and finishes school at 12pm. She is due to leave her infant school in July and start year 3 at a new school in September.
Surely if a centre with 2 adults to 6 children are advising she will still need a 1:1 this means the recommendation for mainstream school is doomed? Will this hold any weight at all?
