Hi I’ve been having meetings at school about my children’s attendance, my little boy struggles with a mild learning difficulty and struggles really bad with his sleep which in results in my other child been asleep at school, I have meetings with the public health nurse and she says they have to over exaggerate my circumstances in order to get a support worker and I’ve asked multiple times to see what’s written, I struggle with GAD (generalised anxiety disorder) and am really worried that if things are over exaggerated that it could lead to something else . I just want to know what I can do in this situation and if somebody as had anything similar thankyou

The school and nurse shouldn’t be exaggerating, but they do need to set out the difficulties bluntly, which can be upsetting at times.

Does your DS with SEN have an EHCP (or the nearest equivalent if you aren’t in England)? Does he take anything to help with his sleep? Is he under paeds?

If they won’t disclose what they have written, you can make a subject access request.
