School choir

DS SS has a choir DS loves to sing although not so much infront of an audience. I went with my Mum to the Carol service where the choir sang, they’re pupils of various abilities. I said to my Mum does she think DS might like being in the choir and she said she thinks the DC who are in it are asked to be in it. Would that be the process?
