EHCP - New request or Appeal ?

DD's EHCP assessment has not been granted.

I was shocked due to diagnosis, previous school reports and the years out of school due to being school refuser.

Paperwork solid from my side but school totally messed it up from their side and have admitted their oversight.

LA says the school can submit a new request or I can appeal.

DC is 15 and applying to 6th form now, so it feels urgent. Very.

I'm guessing appeal is my best strategy, rather than a new request, re time urgency.

Appeal. Just making another EHCNA request may not result in a different outcome. You may still need to appeal 6 weeks down the line.

You can request an expedited hearing since DD is phase transfer and out of school.

In the meantime, if DD can’t attend school, is alternative provision being made?
