4yr old biting - help

Hi everyone. I'm really struggling and exhausted from our 4yr old biting and hurting other children. Is this something they can grow out of :(? Or any recommendations on how to reduce/stop it?

He has a vision impairment and under diagnosis for autism. We know that noise is a trigger, and also when someone trie to play with his toys ...but sometimes we can't pinpoint or stop the biting/hurting. Kids will just be playing near him and he will lash out.

It's getting really hard to manage, especially when we're out in public. We've tried using ear defenders, a biting necklace and obviously have boundaries in place, but nothing seems to work :(

For many, it does reduce or stop over time and with increased support.

Has DS had an OT assessment?

Have you tried keeping a detailed diary to spot triggers? If it is when others are near him, it may be DS perceives they are too close/in his space, exacerbated by his VI.

Is there a QTVI involved?
