Help please, my DD12 has started Y7 this year (undiagnosed ADHD)
she has changed, quickly and dramatically, I know they are supposed to “grow up” but I’m scared. She is extremely impressionable and a people pleaser, she has told me all her friends have boyfriends, she is feeling pressure to “get a boyfriend” and that the kids are kissing at school.
I was in shock, we’re talking about 11/12 year olds, she has no phone as she just isn’t ready for that (I found some messages on her phone, drama, arguing all that stuff) how do I protect her when i can’t be there and she can be very sneaky and lies (part of the adhd impulse issues), I’m considering moving schools but I am afraid this is happening everywhere and there’s no escaping this new way of life. I’ve spoken to her and explained school is for learning, that she needs to focus on her school work etc, she’s already been in the middle of fights and “drama” , I’ve had the headteacher calling me asking why she loves “drama”, I just don’t know how to come to terms with this and I guess I’m wondering if I’m the only one worrying or having problems with their daughter who has additional needs?
