Go Park

I hope I'm posting in the right place!
I wanted to post about my boy, he's 2 and a half, up until now, he's been functionally non verbal.
He was babbling and saying a few words prior to 12 months, but lost all of his words.

Since his 2 year check he's been on the waiting list for autism assessment.
The only "words" he has are numbers and his ABCs, and a few nursery rhymes, all that come out when he stims.

I've spent so long trying to improve his language, and many nights in tears thinking he will never catch up.

We have a park that can be seen from our living room. He stood infront of the window, and said, park... go!! Go park!

So flipping happy. Still waiting on mum, mummy, mama- whatever he wants to call me, but I'm allowing myself to hope it WILL come.

But Go Park! I'm over the moon.

And he did go. He spent 20 minutes on the swings.

Thank you! I just wanted to share with people who get it. My friends all have children who are meeting their milestones or are hyper verbal, so don't really get the excitement for the event.
He's such a happy boy, I can't wait for him to have words that match that sentiment 🙂

Thank you! He really is such a star. I always find that if he knows he will be rewarded that we get the best out of him. That was so unexpected I just had to share 🙂

Awesome news! Well done to you and him. Every new word/attempt is always special! I remember the first time ds said 'mummy' like it was yesterday.
