Hello,

I'm hoping someone can advice. I've been attempting to send off my dc DLA form since August- but I've got myself in a tizz with it and went to Citizens Advice.

Every question I answered in depth (two sides of an A4 paper), I had planned to send all of my dc 27 medical reports from the past two years as well as their school education plans, end of term reports and teacher statements. Dc has autism, GDD, Speech Dyspraxia and DCD, anxiety (cahms) and ARFID they're 7.

Citizens advice have advised to reduce the amount I'm sending (five 'good' reports from school & medical and one parental 'report' - four pages detailing their care and struggles) and helped me rewrite the answers to a short 'snappy' paragraph. I'm really worried it isn't enough....can anyone help? CAB advised that the decision maker wouldn't have time to go through the huge bundle of reports or read through my answers. I'm panicking!

Thank you

You need to be concise and not waffle but write enough to get the point across. 2 sides of A4 for every question is too much.

Similarly, for evidence, you should send enough to support your points but not anything that detracts/distracts from your claim. You don’t need every piece of evidence from the last 2 years unless each piece adds something different.

Thank you that makes so much sense - I had used the guides on line and felt that I needed to give as much information in my answers as possible.

Thank you the reports the CAB have chosen are in depth and reflect my dc needs (the others as quite similar).

Thank you for putting my mind at ease, we've struggled getting support over the years so I always feel i need to over explain!
