Hi.

DD had a form 8 part 2 st school and had 25% extra time in exams.

She's now off to university - do universities recognise this?

Universities offer extra time. Some may use the evidence used for the Form 8, but they don’t use Form 8s themselves because JCQ guidance doesn’t apply to universities.

Dc1 had to pay to be tested. (Think the uni payed £200, dc payed £50). This was because apparently the university can't trust some of the companies doing tests (dcs was local authority assessment). I would imagine universities can set their own rules. It also took the university 9 months to sort out (luckily only had one exam and two assignments in that time that were not assessed using the extra time/leniency).

I work in a university and our extra time arrangements go via the student disability office, so she should start by contacting them (she needs to do this herself, they are unlikely to be able to discuss her arrangements with you unless this has been separately agreed). If she doesn't know how to do this, she can ask her personal tutor when she arrives.

That's helpful thank you

Her extra time was via tests conducted at school under JCQ. The SENCO did it all
