Independent boarding school for limited Verbal Autistic Child

I have a high functioning autistic child with limited speech. We are looking to place him in a boarding school in the UK to support his development as his current school where we live are not meeting his needs.

He is 15 years old with no behavioural issues

Any recommendation of an independent school that could cater for my son's need with a boarding facility.

Thank You

What country within the UK? Do you want mainstream or specialist? If specialist and England, are you resident in England and does DS have an EHCP? Because not all special schools accept self funders and when they do it can be prohibitively expensive.

@EndlessLight Thanks for your response. We are self funders and money will not be an issue. We understand that we will be paying up to 60k a year and we are happy to do that to get our child the right help.

So any good boarding school that accept self funders. If you have any other suggestions.

He is currently in mainstream school outside of the UK but his needs are not being met.

Thank You

I’m not aware of any independent mainstream boarding schools who would be able to meet DS’s needs.

Independent specialist schools for DS’s needs profile cost a lot. £60k wouldn’t be anywhere near enough. That is unless somewhere like More House would admit, but I don’t think they would be able to meet DS’s needs.
