Private OT/ assessment for Dyspraxia in West or North Yorkshire

Hello
Just that really. My 10 year old has dyslexia and I strongly suspect dyspraxia. If she does I’d like the diagnosis in place before her transition to secondary next year so I don’t want to wait for NHS timescales. She struggles socially and physically and it’s impacting her self esteem.

Has anyone used a private service/OT for an assessment for dyspraxia? We are based in Skipton so can travel to West and North Yorkshire.

Any recommendations in the area, please share!
thanks in advance. I’m kicking myself for not having done this a bit sooner.

The OT won’t diagnose dyspraxia. you will need to take the OT report to your GP and get a referral to a paediatrician.

Some OTs can and do diagnose DCD. Pathways in the NHS depend on the area someone lives in, but if the OP is going private, who diagnoses in her area isn’t relevant.

Ah yes am aware of this but thank you.
I want to get the assessment ball rolling, see what comes of that and then will take the next steps towards diagnosis if that is the recommendation.
