Flying from Stansted with assistance

Any recent experience? We’re flying with Jet2 next Saturday. Six of us - me and DH, DS10 who’s autistic, DD4 and my parents. My DM needs some mobility assistance and so I’ve requested assistance for her and DS, who is generally grand and wears his sunflower lanyard happily, but might get a bit overwhelmed with long security queues etc.

Anything you wish you’d known? Anything you’d have done differently?

I phoned up the airline (Ryanair) in advance. Then when you get to Stanstead go through the entrance and turn right. Walk along to the special assistance desk, this is where they check you in. From the desk you follow the purple line on the floor along to the special assistance queue. When you get to the start of security / bag scan, if your son is wearing his sunflower lanyard or if you say you've requested special assistance, they let you in a fast lane and direct you through as quickly as possible.
It's a really good provision and is usually really fast. Well worth doing. Hope that all makes sense.
