I've been recently diagnosed with ADHD (although I have suspected I struggled with it for a long time), and am starting medication soon.

I'm just wondering what helps you manage/cope with your ADHD/ADD??

I would love to hear this too. I can only say what makes it worse and then I try to do the opposite.

Stress - but the major source of stress is work and going on holiday calms down my symptoms loads, but that isn't a realistic solution.

Mobile phone use - I try to hide it or force myself to read a book or watch a tv program. I can manage an hour max before getting twitchy.

As for positive management, i am experimenting:
I am trying to find a way of meditating / mindfulness that workd. Also I am thinking of trying microdosing (although I really want to avoid meditation, so...). I also try to harness my hyperfocus by getting into an activity that I enjoy (in my case studying maths - i just go into the zone for hours, although I go through successful weeks and weeks of not being able to open a book!).

I made a list of strategies - it ended up being 10 points long. I reckon i will be lucky if I hit 3 in the average week!

Books and podcasts! What areas are a challenge?
