Speech therapy

Hiya I know every child is different but I was wondering what everyone’s experience with speech and language therapy with their child and did it work? My little boy is autistic (yet to be diagnosed but on the waiting list for 3 years!!). He had a huge regression at 21/22 months. He’s 3 in August so around this time last year. He lost about 90% of his words so I’ve finally got on the waiting to be referred for speech and language with the NHS. But, I’ve decided to go private as I have no idea how long the wait will be. He can say words but not full sentences, he’s even learning to potty train and can say “bum bum , wee wee & poo poo” lol. He can’t say “I want a juice” but will just say the word “juice”. They’ve confirmed he’s not non verbal so I am hopeful. But I wanted to ask if anyone had children similar to mine did it work for them?

My son has a handful of words, but I'll be honest: with speech therapy, they would always say they can never really predict which way a child will go with their verbal communication. Good to hear you've been able to go private, NHS is so limited, we've had 2 hours so far after we waited 18 months.

Not something I can afford if in honest but I will do anything to benefit him. 2 hours is absolutely disgraceful and so unfair
