Hi all,

We're just had an autism diagnosis for our daughter, and we're negotiating all that comes with that.

Can anyone recommend a psychologist in Stockport area? We feel like we need someone to help specifically with some of the sensory issues she struggles with 🙏🙏

If you want support with sensory issues, do you mean an OT rather than a psychologist?

Bobobab · 17/06/2024 15:17

If OT I would recommend Sensorywise Bramhall xx

BrumToTheRescue · 17/06/2024 17:16

Yes, if you actually want an OT, I would second the recommendation for SensoryWise Bramhall, Rosalind Wall is excellent.

I have heard good things/read some good reports from a couple of the OTs at Manchester Occupational therapy service, too.

@BrumToTheRescue thanks for the recommend - we're so early in out journey I don't know yet what the difference is between an OT and a psychologist 🤷‍♀️.

Got some more figuring out to do I think....

An OT and a psychologist are different health care professionals with different roles, experience and remits. Sensory integration OT would be better placed to support with sensory needs.
