Missing exam papers

Hi all

My daughter is struggling to manage GCSEs at the moment (anxiety, awaiting autism assessment) but has sat at least one paper for each subject so far. I've been told there may be scope to apply to the exam board on health grounds for a mark based on the bit she has done but wasn't sure how to do this? Any advice would be much appreciated.

The school exams officer should handle this for you if exams are missed due to illness. They have to have sat a certain % of a subject however.

Roughly speaking they look to see how others who got the same marks in the papers she has sat have done overall, and give you that grade.

If you need more info you could ask on the Secondary education board.

I second the exams officer if DD is unable to sit exams. You can see JCQ’s guidance here. If DD has sat at least one component worth at least 15% and is unable to sit the exams.

Does DD have access arrangements?

Brilliant thanks for your replies. Yes various adjustments in place but still a struggle. I'll contact the exams officer to see if there's anything we can do for the ones she doesn't manage.
