Hi there 👋🏼
I'm not sure if this is the right topic for this but my child is SEN and in particular has issues with others in his space/speech/not sharing.
Yesterday I witnessed a practitioner saying to my child (because he shouted and screamed because he was upset) 'NO, that is a very silly noise, that's a very silly noise' and he ran off.
I work in the same nursery so this is how it was witnessed. I was quite upset by it as it has been a hard 6 months fighting the LA for EHCP amongst other things.
Told the senior of the room and she said she would deal with it and said it's not appropriate to be saying that.
I then later had a confrontation with the staff member who started to raise her voice and said 'if I was that bothered as a parent I should of just come to her instead of gossiping' and 'if you stuck around and watched longer you would have seen he screamed and kicked me'.
I really don't know how to handle this. Part of me wants him not to go back and we both terminate our contracts. There's no witnesses to him doing this nor is there an incident form so it's a bit tit for tat.
Am I overreacting? I simply said you can't speak to children like that and if it wasn't my child that you spoke to I would have still said something.
Thanks
