Our son is divorced ( 9 yrs ago) and his ex will not communicate with him or let him see his 9 yr old son who has sen. He got an ehcp last yr and our S was not told about it. He contacted the childs school and said he wanted to be at yearly reviews and was told he'd be invited. Review was in Feb and he attended remotely but ex and son werent there and he wasnt given any paperwork and has not been sent a draft review. He received a teachers statement for review a few weeks after review and all the information was new to him which makes us think he wasn't at the proper review, something seems amiss. What do other people think and what should he do? He is trying to see his child but his ex won't answer his communications and he hasn't seen him for 8m having previously had him eow. He is now remarried with a lovely baby girl and desperately wants his son to meet his new sister but his ex won't let him and he refusing to let our S see his child coincided with his new wife being pregnant. His ex has MH problems & has threatened suicide if he tries to take her to court. Any advise much appreciated.

Perhaps he could contact the LEA and get the EHCP paperwork from them.

I second contacting the LA.

DS should also apply to the court for access rather than apply himself to be manipulated.

Is it your son or your ex son in law as per your other thread?

Thanks. We'll tell S/L to contact LEA if head doesn't send the paperwork. We don't understand why he hasn't got it or why GC and mum not at Review it was the actual review - very odd . It looks like timeslines etc are national ones so school should have stuck to them.
