I'm not sure where to post this because I don't think my daughter is neurodivergent (if that's the correct term), but she has sensory needs/behaviours.
She has always enjoys flapping objects in front of her face. Generally I think it's just a comfort thing. She hasn't really made any friends at preschool which is upsetting as she has been at the same place since she was a baby. The preschool staff have told me they confiscated the flappy object today as it's preventing her from interacting with the other children. I am happy for them to encourage social interaction but I'm worried about how this might affect her. Does anyone else have experience of this?
