I'm looking into teaching in a special school in the future (currently in mainstream). Can anyone recommend any books I could read about SEND to help build my knowledge over the next year or so. Thank you.

For understanding the SEN system, reading the SENCOP is a good place to start. As is reading IPSEA and SOSSEN’s websites. Where to focus attention for reading material about SEN itself would depend on what type of SS you were thinking of teaching in.
