Hi, I'm curious to know if anyone with ADHD has been offered a place at Emanuel School, and if so, are they happy attending this school? My ds has ADHD and going through 11+.

I would be cautious with SEN and Emanuel. They are a very kind and caring school within certain limited boundaries. It is fast-paced and demanding and, if your child has needs which require support over and above things like dyslexia, then you may find it lacking. Ultimately you know your child - if they can cope and keep up with their peers with minimal allowances and some basic support then they should be fine but otherwise I would look elsewhere.

Thanks @usernamebore He doesn’t need any particular support. Do you know anyone with ADHD which has been offered a place?

I was hugely unimpressed by Emanuel on my visit. I spoke to a variety of the senior teachers and they came across as soulless and thoroughly unlikable. That sounds very harsh, but I just didn't get a very good feeling from them all. Particularly the ones in charge of academics.

I have a friend with a child there who has ADHD - they are very happy with the school (Definitely ADHD not just ADD as well). DC wasn't diagnosed when they applied, but know another child who was and it was declared and child was offered a place. Ultimately they took a big scholarship offer elsewhere.
