Hi. Just wondering if anyone has any advice or experience in final stage school complaint which has resulted in a governors panel hearing.

Am due to attend one this month in relation to the school seriously failing with SEN support which they have tried to cover up due to not wanting the blame of my child suffering a serious mental health crisis.

I want to go prepared which is easy on paper but I know anxiety will kick in on the day as I am not sure what to expect.

Make notes of anything you want to say so you don’t forget anything if you are anxious.

Be careful with SENDIASS. Some are good, but far too many are not and repeat the LA’s unlawful policies.

A governor panel will look at whether the school has followed it's own policies and procedures. You need copies of these - and then bullet point where you think they have failed to follow them, hopefully with evidence to back up your points. If you need to, do a SAR to get all the information from school that you need.

Also look at the send code of practice - school should also be following this.
