Umbrella pathway

GP wants us to get our daughter assessed under the umbrella pathway. He warned me it would be a gruelling 12 months. At the time I was too stunned to ask questions. What can we expect? I’ve read the NHS website he sent a link for but I’d like to hear about personal experiences to prepare myself

The assessment process varies area to area, so unless you post whereabouts you are others won’t be able to tell you what the pathway involves in your specific area. However, the commonalities often include taking a developmental history/family history and most consist of a multi-disciplinary team.
