Section 19 Provision. How long is acceptable to wait?

I’ve been waiting 3 weeks to hear from the team who deals with provision for DC who can not attend school.

I emailed DC case worker for an update who told me someone will be in touch soon but the contact is on annual leave until next week; by that point DC will be in to the 4th week of no education.

How long should it take?

Provision should begin as soon as it becomes clear 15 days will be missed. The days don’t need to have already been missed or consecutive. Email the Director of Children’s Services chasing them. If that doesn’t work, email again reminding them of their statutory duty. Then, if that fails, contact SOSSEN for help with a pre-action letter.
