Are parenting courses standard practice?

Hi everyone

I’ve seen a lot about parenting courses being recommended when parents are querying SEN with health professionals and just wondered whether this was standard practice?

DD has potential ASD / SPD and I’m just curious as to whether health visitors etc will be referring me onto parent courses too? Is this the norm?

It depends on the needs of the family/DC, what is available locally, and local practices.
